BIOGRAPHY:
Felix Murillo was born in San Jose on December 17th, 1971. Although he considers himself to be a self taught artist, he is grateful to the artist Francisco Alvarado who has been his mentor during more than three years at the school for Art and Decoration, ESEMPI, in San Jose Costa Rica.
Before then he had already experimented with techniques such as acrylic, pastel painting, collages, ink, watercolor, charcoal, etc. At the school he expanded his artistic knowledge from history of Art, painting, installations of ‘Recycling Art’ to psychology, photography and decoration, specializing in oil painting.
In his long artistic trajectory, Murillo has worked within different fields including Jewelry and artistic make up.
At a very early age, Murillo felt a deep attraction towards art. He was always drawn to colors, forms and textures, although he did not know then that he would end up dedicating his life to it. Nowadays, he is a valued artist and his work is purchased by different private collectors all over the world.

Today, we can find an art world full of color, emotions, textures and dreams. In his work we find beauty in its perfect form visible through the female forms, in the multicultural faces, in exotic creatures that capture and take us where our mind is willing to travel; when we shift our gaze in another direction, Murillo submerges us into a marine dream: harmonious colors and textures are rooted in his energetic creations. His original fish are his personal signature.
Even when our critical eyes are satisfied with observing this immense talent his works still surprise us almost overwhelming our imagination with his fun montages, crazy collages full of passion that will make us reflect on those little things that make life great.

Felix Murillo nació en San Jose un 17 de Diciembre, 1971. A pesar de que se considera a sí mismo un artista autodidacta, siempre le estará agradecido al artista Francisco Alvarado, su mentor durante más de tres años en Escuela de Arte y Decoración, ESEMPI, en San Jose, Costa Rica.
Antes de eso ya había experimentado con técnicas como el acrílico, pastel, pintura, collages, tinta, acuarela, carboncillo, etc. En la escuela, amplió sus conocimientos artísticos en Historia del arte, pintura, instalaciones de ' Arte Reciclado', psicología, fotografía y decoración, especializandose en pintura al óleo .
En su larga trayectoria artística , Murillo ha trabajado en diferentes campos como joyería y maquillaje artístico.
Desde una edad muy temprana, Murillo sintió una profunda atracción hacia el arte. Dibujos llenos de colores, formas y texturas, sin saber, por aquel entonces, que acabaría dedicando su vida a ello . Hoy en día, es un artista que vive y disfruta de su trabajo y su obra es adquirida por diferentes coleccionistas privados de todo el mundo.

Al hablar de Murillo, nos encontramos con un mundo artístico lleno de color, emociones, texturas y sueños. En su obra encontramos la belleza a través de las formas femeninas, en los rostros multiculturales, en las criaturas exóticas que nos capturan y nos llevan donde nuestra mente esté dispuesta a viajar. Cuando cambiamos la dirección de nuestra mirada, Murillo nos sumerge en un sueño marino: los colores armoniosos y las texturas están íntimamente arraigados en sus enérgicas creaciones.
